-What got you into the field of Clinical Laboratory Sciences?
I happen to stumble upon the major, Medical Technology, while at UAB. I always wanted to have a lab background because someday when I grow up I want to further my education and become a physician.
-What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
So far it has been getting a thank you note from the lab director thanking my shift for doing a great job when both cbc analyzer were down
-What makes you diverse?
What makes me diverse is that I am optimistic and try to turn every bad situation into something good.
-How has ASCLS impacted you?
ASCLS has impacted me by making me more involved in the field from being on the board of ASCLS-AL to networking at ASCLS meetings
-What is your favorite part about the job?
My favorite part of my job is helping out my fellow nurses with any problem/ questions that they have about lab.
-Your biggest achievements or proudest moments, both in your career and normal life:
My proudest moment in my career was getting a job and passing my boards a few weeks after graduating. In my normal life my recent achievement has been buying my first house at the age of 23.
-In your eyes, why should people join ASCLS?
I think people should join because ASCLS is a great networking/ learning tool. You are able to interact with different people, learn about new advancements / issues or even get advice from fellow techs on issues that you are experiencing.
