I am currently the Supervisor for the Clinical Microscopy (Hematology) section of my laboratory. I started in the laboratory field as a 92B in the US Army. At that time the Army's Basic Medical Laboratory training was a 15 week course. I later became an MLT on my own and eventually an MT. With my first Masters, I qualified for my SH with ASCP. I later took the MLS and most recently the SCYM.
I have been an ASCLS member since I was a student in 1999. I became an active participant in 2008 and have held several roles since then including: Heme SA Chair, State President, Leadership Development Chair, Abstract and Proposal Review Committee Chair, and Director.
