ASCLS, our grassroots professional organization, relies on the collective action of our members—and most importantly our member volunteers—to make our voices heard and to make a positive impact in healthcare. Indeed, the strength of our Society lies in our volunteers. Whether you can make a long-term or short-term commitment, ASCLS needs you and your expertise to carry out its mission.
The society values the voices of all Developing Professionals (Students) and Ascending Professionals (within 5 years of graduation) members, and it is for that reason that we ask for volunteers to serve as committee representatives for our committees. If there is already an official representative on the committee that you select, we will do our best to add you as an interested observer to that committee. Interested observers are individuals that participate in the committee conference calls, just like any other committee member, but they are considered non-voting/non-appointed members of the committee.
Time commitment is typically 1 hour per month for conference calls and then additional time to complete any work that the committee does to complete their charges. That additional time is at your discretion, but will be approximately 3-5 hours per month.
