  • Invitation to Participate in CLEF Upcoming Annual Meeting, Nominations, and Elections

    Dear CLEF Members,

The Clinical Laboratory Educators Forum (CLEF) invites you to join us for our Annual Meeting on Tuesday May 20th, at 5:00 PM EST. As we embark on another exciting year with plenty of potential, your assistance and input are vital. During this meeting, we will discuss the upcoming year's framework, provide updates on forum activities, and hold our annual elections.

The following positions will be open for election:

    ·        Forum Vice-Chair (3-year term): The vice-chair will succeed to Forum Chair after the first year and then to Past Chair after serving as Chair. Responsibilities include supporting general forum activities, coordinating the Student Research and Case Study Award process in the Spring, and serving on the CLEC Steering Committee.

    ·        Forum Secretary (1 position, 2-year term): The secretary is responsible for recording and maintaining forum meeting minutes and other administrative tasks.

    ·        Forum Councilors-at-Large (3 positions, 2-year term): These councilors contribute to the overall direction and decision-making of the forum.

    ·        Committee on Educational Programs and Initiatives (CEPI) (4 positions): Three members will serve 2-year terms, and one will serve a 1-year term. The CEPI assesses trends in educational programs and develops educational offerings for educators. Members may serve two consecutive terms but must take a break of at least one year before reapplying.

To be eligible, candidates must be a member of ASCLS for at least four months before the election and a member of CLEF at the time of nomination.

If you are interested in any of these positions, please send a one-paragraph biography and interest statement to me at Phyllis.ingham@westgatech.edu by April 16th.

Voting will occur during the Annual Meeting, and only members in attendance can vote (candidates do not need to be present). All candidates meeting the requirements will be slated, and information about each candidate will be provided for review prior to the meeting.

The responsibilities of these positions are detailed in the Guidelines for Governance, which are posted in both the CLEF and CLEF Leadership Communities. Registration and meeting links will be sent out closer to the event.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you need additional information. We encourage you to consider this exciting volunteer opportunity!

    Best regards,
    Phyllis Ingham, CLEF Chair
