The International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science (IFBLS) is an independent non-governmental association of national societies in 35 countries, representing more than 165,000 medical laboratory scientists and technologists worldwide. ASCLS appoints one member to serve at the Society's representative to the Federation. This role requires some international travel. ASCLS allocates up to $2,000 for travel to IFBLS meetings, but past experience is that actual costs are more than allocated. The balance of the cost for travel expenses is the responsibility of the representative.
