CHAIR
Emilio Pineda
My name is Emilio Pineda and I’m excited to serve my community through TACLS as the Developing Professional Forum Chair. I recently graduated from the Medical Laboratory Technology program at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX, where I also served as the MLT Club President. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and I contribute to providing essential patient healthcare as a Medical Laboratory Technician with the UT Health East Texas hospital system.
As a member of ASCLS, I’ve had the amazing opportunity of participating in the 2024 TACLS Annual Meeting in Granbury, TX. There, speaker presentations were held, I was provided great networking opportunities, and my team won 3rd place at the Student Bowl. I’m passionate about what laboratory professionals do to ensure patients are properly diagnosed and treated. The impact that we have on people’s lives through our work in the laboratory has always fascinated me. I’m eager to educate others about medical laboratory science, as it is a continuously growing field with endless opportunities. The TACLS Developing Professional Forum aims to be the advocating voice of the new generation that spreads awareness of this career field.
VICE CHAIR

Jennifer Argo

Jennifer Argo, MLT (Student)

My name is Jennifer Argo, and I am a Medical Laboratory Technology student at Del Mar  College, currently in my final semester. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the  Philippines and spent nearly 11 years in the paint manufacturing industry, advancing to  Production Manager. After moving to the U.S., I pursued my passion for laboratory science and  am now preparing to enter the healthcare field as an MLT, with the ultimate goal of becoming an  MLS.

As a board member, I am dedicated to promoting the medical laboratory profession and  increasing awareness of its vital role in patient care. I plan to use social media to promote the  medical labratory sciences, and leverage my previous experience to enhance communication and  advocacy efforts for the profession. I look forward to making a meaningful impact in this field.
